Whether you're ready yet or not, Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code goes into effect July 1, 2001. This course focuses on some of the changes created by the Revision of Article 9. These are the most drastic revisions to the Article since 1972. The format consists of a series of hypotheticals, followed by questions and answers that raise Article 9 issues. You'll be dealing with: the new definitions of terms; identification of the collateral; method and timing of perfection; priority of competing claims; and transition rules. Although this one hour introduction will give you a good start, you know better than to think that one-hour will cover it all. We'll be adding more courses on this subject in the future.
